In the 2021 setup, MarketXLS read data from a running copy of the desktop thinkorswim platform: you kept thinkorswim open, then typed =tos in an Excel cell to see the list of thinkorswim functions that MarketXLS provided.

Thinkorswim is a desktop trading platform, originally from TD Ameritrade, built for self-directed stock, options, and futures traders. It is designed for derivatives-focused active traders and can be customized with tabs for your most-used features.
