Streaming Functions (Real-Time)
For truly automatic updates, use MarketXLS streaming functions:
=QM_Stream_Last("AAPL")
=QM_Stream_Bid("MSFT")
=QM_Stream_Ask("GOOGL")
Streaming functions automatically update as new market data arrives - no manual refresh needed.
Note: Streaming functions require an Advanced or Business subscription and are only active during market hours.
Troubleshooting Refresh Issues
Data Not Updating?
- Check your internet connection
- Verify MarketXLS is loaded - Look for the MarketXLS menu
- Check market hours - Some data only updates during trading hours
- Restart Excel - Sometimes a fresh start helps
Slow Refresh?
- Reduce the number of functions on a single sheet
- Use fewer real-time streaming functions
- Close other heavy applications
Best Practices
- Don't over-refresh - Excessive refreshing won't give you newer data
- Use streaming for real-time needs - More efficient than constant manual refresh
- Refresh before analysis - Always refresh before making trading decisions
