Streaming Functions (Real-Time)

For truly automatic updates, use MarketXLS streaming functions:

=QM_Stream_Last("AAPL")
=QM_Stream_Bid("MSFT")
=QM_Stream_Ask("GOOGL")

Streaming functions automatically update as new market data arrives - no manual refresh needed.

Note: Streaming functions require an Advanced or Business subscription and are only active during market hours.

Troubleshooting Refresh Issues

Data Not Updating?

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Verify MarketXLS is loaded - Look for the MarketXLS menu
  3. Check market hours - Some data only updates during trading hours
  4. Restart Excel - Sometimes a fresh start helps

Slow Refresh?

  • Reduce the number of functions on a single sheet
  • Use fewer real-time streaming functions
  • Close other heavy applications

Best Practices

  • Don't over-refresh - Excessive refreshing won't give you newer data
  • Use streaming for real-time needs - More efficient than constant manual refresh
  • Refresh before analysis - Always refresh before making trading decisions
