How do I set up my QuoteMedia account?

QuoteMedia provides the real-time market data for MarketXLS. Here's how to set it up:

Step 1: Find Your Credentials

After purchasing MarketXLS, you'll receive a separate email with your QuoteMedia account details:

• Username: Usually your email address
• Password: Auto-generated (in your setup email)

Look for an email with subject like "QuoteMedia account details" or "MarketXLS data access"

Step 2: Sign Exchange Agreements

Important: You must sign exchange agreements to receive real-time data.

1. Check your setup email for the exchange agreement link
2. Click the link and sign the required agreements
3. This is required for NYSE, NASDAQ, and other exchanges
4. Without signed agreements, you may see authentication errors

Step 3: Enter Credentials in MarketXLS

1. Open Excel with MarketXLS
2. Go to MarketXLS tab > Settings
3. Find the QuoteMedia section
4. Enter your username and password
5. Click Test Connection to verify

Troubleshooting Authentication Errors

"Unable to authenticate" Error

If you see this error:

1. Double-check your username (usually your email)
2. Verify your password from the setup email
3. Make sure you've signed the exchange agreements
4. Try resetting your password via support
